City of Palm Coast City of Palm Coast
Volunteer Firefighters

We're looking for a few good volunteers...

The newly reorganized Associate Members of Palm Coast Volunteer fire/Rescue, Inc. are looking for help with some new ventures. We have a definite need for qualified people who would like to volunteer a few hours a week of their time in the areas of general clerical, budget preparation, auditing, public relations, inventory control and more. We are a group that supports the volunteer fire/rescue personnel that serve your community. Our goal is to relieve them of the paperwork so they can do what they do best - protect you, your family and your homes in an emergency. If you can help us with any portion of this we urge you to please give us a call at 986-2307 or drop by the main fire station and say hello. (4750 Belle Terre Parkway - across the street from Albertson's) Come join in and help us help the community. Along the way you will meet some terrific new friends and get involved in your community.

Why Be a Volunteer Firefighter?

Being a Volunteer Firefighter offers rewards few other jobs can match. Few jobs offer you the opportunity to save a life, but as a volunteer firefighter, you could be called upon to do it in a moments notice.

The men and women who volunteer at Palm Coast Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Inc. share a common interest, the desire to help others in need. This year they have responded to many fire/rescue related emergencies, and will help prevent many more fires that will or could result in injury to you, your family and your friends.

Training

Because their job is so important, volunteer firefighters in Palm Coast are trained and equipped, at no cost to the volunteer. Each potential volunteer firefighter must undergo in house training, in addition to certified fire and rescue training, as a probationary active member. Additional training in both fire and emergency medical services is provided as courses become available. Upon completion of training, probationary members are fully equipped with protective fire fighting gear and alerting pagers.

Need

Volunteer firefighters of Palm Coast provide the community with fire protection, without the cost associated with a full time, fully paid fire department. There is a growing need for additional volunteer firefighters due to the steady growth in population and building construction in our community, and with the anticipated increase in the number of annual emergency calls.

To insure the future of low cost fire service and proper manning levels for fire suppression, the volunteer men and women who now serve with Palm Coast Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Inc. are asking you to become a VOLUNTEER. Not only are firefighters needed, but volunteers who are willing to serve as Associate Members in support roles, such as fund raising committees, public education and fire prevention, and computer data entry, are also needed.

If you desire to help your community and consider respect and appreciation reward enough for the job you do, then the volunteer members of Palm Coast Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Inc., would appreciate any time you could give them. Preliminary applications for membership are available at the main fire station, 1250 Belle Terre Parkway. Complete the application and deposit it in the black metal membership committee mailbox in the volunteers' office.

Volunteers care for all lives, take the step and join now! WE NEED YOU!
