Extrication Team
Founded in 2005, the City of Palm Coast Fire/Rescue Extrication Team was established with a mission to provide Department education, community exposure and public education on vehicle extrication.
The team has six members, each specialized in a specific discipline involving all aspects of vehicle extrication, including, but not limited to; hydraulic tools, air tools, vehicle stabilization, electrical concerns and patient/victim medical care.
The team attended its first regional competition in March 2006 in Hartsville, SC. The team was awarded 3rd place in a rapid intervention evolution.
The City of Palm Coast Fire/Rescue Extrication Team competes in at least two competitions a year. These competitions expose the team to technical and procedural innovations in the vehicle extrication community. Some of the things learned at a competition are then brought home to the department and implemented, providing an ever evolving vehicle extrication program for the department.
